Day View

Categories

Categories are useful when you want to stack groups together. On day view categories are displayed in summary part and they are represented with a folder icon.
For example Document timeline already has two categories created, Web Sites and Files, and all groups on this timeline are in one of the two categories. This keeps web sites and files separate from each other and it also allows for some advanced statistics. For example you can see statistics for Top 10 Web sites or Files.

All functionality to create, edit or delete a category is in the Summary part.

For example lets say you want to create a category for browsers:

  • Create category by clicking on Create category icon, located just above Summary part.
  • Name it "Browsers". After you click OK category will be displayed at the very bottom of Summary list (list is ordered by time and this category is empty for now)
  • Right click on Internet explorer group and choose Move to category -> "Browsers". You can do this for other browsers you use.

To rename category just right click on it and choose Rename.
To delete category right click on it and choose Delete. All groups which are in category will move back to root.

Categories Web sites and Files on Document timeline are special categories and you will not be able to delete them.
You can create categories on all timelines except Tag timeline.
You can only create one level of categories, so categories can not have sub-categories.
